Types of Rooms

Bringing in personal items such as photos will help to make the transition easier for the Resident. Our homes have a variety of room type’s available private (one bed), semi-private (two bed) and ward (four bed) accommodation.

The costs of long term care are shared by the Resident and the government. Residents pay for their accommodation while the government covers the costs of items as medication, food, programming and care.

If applicable, rates for all types of long term care accommodation are established by the provincial government. Depending on the Resident's income, rate subsidies may be available for ward accommodation. For more information, please contact the appropriate provincial agency.

Recreation & Wellness

The Recreation Department offers a variety of programs in order to provide a healthy balances lifestyle suited to each individual. Through initial and quarterly assessments we are able to deliver programs to the Residents based on their ever changing physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual needs. Our goal is to maintain or improve the abilities of each resident through involvement in recreational programs, proven to increase quality of life through active living. Residents are encouraged to enjoy past hobbies while also gaining new experiences and having fun.

Our menus are developed by a Registered Dietitian in consultation with our Residents. The menu is modified twice yearly in the Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter with input from our Residents. This careful planning results in the preparation of tasty and healthy meal offerings that suit all preferences and cultural needs.

The final menu is approved by the Resident Council at the Home. Monthly Food Committee meetings to address menu and dietary concerns, make suggestions for home specific changes to the menu and to provide input for Resident choice meals and theme meals. Our skilled team is experienced at providing specialized nutritional care such as diabetic, renal and texture modified diets.

Resident and Family Councils

Resident Council

Every Resident in our Home's is encouraged to join the Resident Council. The Resident Council is supported by staff. It is a forum for Resident's to suggest improvements they would like within the Home and to discuss the Home.

Family Council

Families are encouraged to participate in the Home's Family Council as it has proven very effective in building strong ties between Families, Residents and our Teams.

With sincere Appreciation

To all Management: thank you for all your support and good wishes on my retirement.

It was a pleasure working with you. I’m very pleased to leave knowing we received a 3 year accreditation acknowledgement. We made a good team!

Much of the beauty of life is found in people who care……

Thank you for the care and support you provided to my Mother these past years and for the compassion and dignity you extended to her at her passing.

You are all truly amazing

From a Family Member

Thank you all for your wonderful, loving care of our Dad. He came to think of you as family and trusted you and was comfortable with your superb care. He could be a character and I know you had your moments with him – but it was home to him the past few years.

Thank you again
